The Eiffel Tower

The most well known landmark in Paris is the Eiffel tower. It was built between 1887 and 1889 by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World Fair. It was initially intended to be removed after 20 years but people loved it and it was preserved. It is one of the monuments that is most visited today in the world.

The height of the tower is 330 metres. Tourists are able to visit the summit and have a view of the whole city of Paris. At night, the tower is lit up with bright lights, and it appears very spectacular.

The Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum is the biggest art museum in the world and the most visited museum on Earth. It is located in the centre of Paris next to the Seine River. It was constructed as a royal palace in the past and was made a museum in 1793.

The Louvre has over 35,000 artworks on display. The most renowned painting is the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. It is visited by several millions of tourists annually to view this and other well-known pieces of art.
